Mental Health and Wellness

Mental health and emotional wellness resources that are COVID-19 related:

The Government of Canada website provides up-to-date information on COVID-19 in Canada including prevention, awareness, self-isolation and taking care of your mental health. 

The World Health Organization (WHO) provides the latest updates on the COVID-19 pandemic globally. The site includes resources on travel, coping with stress, and myth busters. 

The Centre for Addicition and Mental Health (CAMH) provides information and suggestions on how to cope during the COVID-19 outbreak, including how to deal with stress and anxiety, how to talk to children about the virus, and how to maintain your mental health. 

The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) provides information on self-care, working, and caregiving in response to COVID-19. The MHCC also provides province specific mental health resources related to COVID-19. 

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) provides resources and suggestions to help support one's mental health during this time of uncertainty. The CMHA provides resources on managing anxiety and stress, social distancing, and how to care for children during the COVID-19 crisis. 

Anxiety Canada provides resources to help cope with anxiety, stress, and worry during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

 

During this time of uncertainty, those with chronic health conditions may be feeling extra stressed, anxious or worried. The Chronic Health Conditions Course provides online education on techniques for managing symptoms of anxiety and/or depression and assists with managing thoughts and behaviours. The course is free, it is available to any Canadian living with a chronic health condition, who are 18 years or older and are experiencing symptoms of anxiety and/or depression. The course is delivered by the Online Therapy Unit from the University of Regina under the supervision of Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos.

 

WellCan - provides a hub for mental health resources and tools to help all Canadians maintain positive mental, physical, social and financial health during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wellness Together Canada provides free online resources, tools, apps and connections to trained volunteers and qualified mental health professionals when needed.
