Recruitment - 2012 Board of Directors

Cystic Fibrosis Canada is recruiting for three volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors. Two positions will be appointments for one year terms (with the possibility of an extension) and one position is to fill a vacancy of an elected director until the date of the next AGM to be held in April 2013.

Our mission is to help people with cystic fibrosis (CF) by:

• funding research towards the goal of a cure or control for cystic fibrosis
• supporting high quality CF care
• promoting public awareness of cystic fibrosis, and
• raising and allocating funds for these purposes.

Cystic Fibrosis Canada is a national charitable organization with fifty volunteer chapters across the country. For fifty years, Cystic Fibrosis Canada (formerly the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation) has been a strong voice and champion for people with cystic fibrosis, their caregivers, and families. We build awareness and advocate for change. We work with governments to provide essential programs to enhance the quality of life for people with CF. We partner with community groups to improve access to support services. We help create policy, effect change, raise funds and promote CF research. We do this with the vital support of our extended community – people with CF, caregivers, committed volunteers, dedicated medical professionals and loyal donors.

The board plays a leadership role as we implement our new strategic directions while embarking on a major fundraising campaign to raise funds to advance research and care.

Ideally, the thirteen member board would be comprised of a team of leaders with a combined experience in fundraising, finance, healthcare management, public relations, law, corporate governance, strategic planning, and senior management in the public, private and non-profit sectors. We are specifically looking for directors with experience in human resources/executive compensation, fundraising and research.
